Where it all takes place

First of all, let me introduce you to the place we live in: In order to get to our house you have to drive up a steep hill. The village we live in boasts about 300 people, yes, you read that correctly, 300. I’m guessing there are just as many cows as people though, actually there are probably a lot more. There are no shops, no post office, no nothing; the only thing we do have here is a Wirtshaus, a typical local restaurant. It is a 20 minute drive to the next city, and a 1,75 h drive to a big city. Yes, we are pretty much hermits, but this is what we see when we look out of the windows in our dining area:
